Temporomandibular Joint Disorder/TMD/TMJ Symptoms



The ATM connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the skull in front of the ear. TMJ disorders refer to problems associated with this town. Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) may be caused by injury, illness, aging or normal activities. Clenching or grinding teeth (bruxism) can change the alignment of the teeth, causing muscle spasms and inflammation. The arthritis often affects the temporo-mandibular joint.



The symptoms of temporomandibular disorders-DMT causes pain in the muscles of the face and jaw that can radiate to the neck and shoulders. Pain is present when you speak, chew or yawn and usually is in the city in front of the ear or elsewhere on the skull, face or jaw. There may be ringing in the ears (tinnitus) or hearing loss. TDG is sometimes confused with an ear infection. Clicking, popping or grating sounds may be noted that when the movements of the temporomandibular joint.



Your face and mouth may appear swollen. The jaw may lock open or not open at all or may appear deviated to one side and may also have difficulty swallowing. Headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting were noted with TMD. The headache is usually at the temples and side of the head. People often confused with a headache tension headache or sinus headache, but can be determined by TDG during an examination.



There are more varied and symptoms of TMD. The following list attempts to highlight some of them: the head and facial pain around the eyes, tearing, pain in the tooth and the inability to open up the sensitivity of the jaw, dizziness or close to jaw pain ear pain, difficulty swallowing, neck and back pain associated with TMD may be sharp, burning or dull and constant. Many people are being treated for severe headaches with medication, but no treatment for the underlying cause.
